Kalgoorlie was established during the gold rush years in Australia. This is an inland city located very near Perth in the western part of Australia. Before the discovery of gold at the end of the 19th century this region was inhabited by the aboriginals. The town witnessed a population boom in the beginning of the 20th century and with the commencement of the railway service the process of development was further augmented. The city still has many reminiscences of the past which can be found in the architectures and the old buildings of the city.

There are two distinct seasons in the city of Kalgoorlie, summer and the winter. Temperatures rise very high during the summer months and they are generally dry. The winter days are wet and moderately cold. The temperature rarely drops below 0oCelsius. The annual temperature of Kalgoorlie ranges from 5 degree Celsius to 33 degree Celsius approximately. There is no particular rainy season and only about 65 days in a year enjoys rainfall.

The Little Boulder Sweet Shop should be visited while in the city. This city has some of the best picnic spots in Hammond Park, Centennial Park and Kingsbury Park. While in the city the tourists can visit the quaint and gorgeous suburbs like Fairways, Boulder, Super Pit, Lamington, Mullingar and Victory Heights. Kalgoorlie Town Hall is a gorgeous architecture which depicts the city�s history and the tradition. The souvenirs and the local jewelry can be bought from the local sops and also the Visitor Centre.
